Forget everything. If you are selling your home now you need a new attitude. First, abandon the idea that the cash buyer is your dream ticket. Choosing a price to go on the market? Set it lower than what you hope to achieve.
And as property sales continue to grind along at historically low levels — 50 per cent lower than at the peak in 2007 — it could be time to put your sale price up.
This is just some of the different advice being given by seasoned property insiders. The market is going through convulsions, and some of the tried-and-trusted rules are being rewritten or thrown out.
