IT’S been a while since I did a round-up of my favourite bookmarks, so for those still hoping to move in by Christmas here’s a selection of useful websites.
Stage One is sorting out the mortgage and there are countless offers available. However, here’s a mortgage calculator which will help you do the maths. Here are some other mortgage website links to look at:
DirectGov: Intro to mortgages
The Mortgage Advice Bureau
Mortgages on Moneysavingexpert
Council of Mortgage Lenders
Independent: Mortgages section
Citizens Advice Bureau: Buying A Home
Minimum income calculator: Be honest with yourself or face problems !
Finding the right location: Where you are going to live is likely to be determined by employment prospects but study the area carefully. A few streets either way could save you a lot of money, a lot of time commuting or spare you the aggravation of moving into a ‘troubled area’. Most property search websites such as the Independent property search engine include pannable maps to help you with your search.
