Edmonds faces £1million Christmas bill after losing property dispute with former friend
From 'The Mail'
Noel Edmonds has been stung with a near £1million Christmas bill after losing a High Court property battle.
The Deal or No Deal presenter must pay his former friend and business partner Ulrik Lawson damages of £150,000 before Christmas.
He must also pay £175,000 of Mr Lawson's £350,000 legal bill before the new year and meet his own costs of around £500,000.
Judge David Wilcox made the costs orders today following his judgment last month dismissing the 62-year-old's own £370,000 claim over a failed property deal.
The Noel’s House Party presenter had accused business partner Mr Lawson of reneging on a property deal which left him £500,000 out of pocket.
In turn, Mr Lawson, 50, sued Edmonds to recoup cash for apparent building work on another £2million house the presenter owned.
During the 10-day hearing at Bristol County Court, Mr Edmonds had described his property developer friend as the 'brother he never had'.
